Katana "TOMBO" Kozuka
Reference :
HA85761
The dragonfly "Tombo" (ト ン ボ) was considered an honorable symbol of the samurai. It symbolized the courage of warriors and the attitude of never giving up.
The Japanese worship of this insect, which is considered in Shintoism as the spirit of the rice plant and the precursor of a harvest-rich autumn, is also expressed in many poems.
Indeed in old Japanese akitsu (秋 津) was the old name of dragonflies, today called Tombo.
This Saber is a real highlight in many ways. Especially the thematic ornamentation rate, the differentiated tempered blade in the Shobu-Zukuri style and the sheath with Kozuka (Beimesser) make this Shinken something very special.
- Sharp 1095 carbon steel blade (Ideal for Battōdo)
- Shobu-Zukuri style blade (smooth tip transition) with groove (Bo-Hi)
- Hardening with 60 ° Rockwell quench line at the cutting edge, 40 ° at the back of the blade
- Shiny black lacquered Saya (Kuroro style)
- Sheath with Kozuka (when Esser)
- Comes in an attractive collector's box
- Done in historic styles
Dimensions:
Sleeve length: 30cm
Blade length: 68cm
Total length: 98.5 cm
Weight (without Saya): 1090 g
