Magnificent Murasame Tanto in hand forged folded steel black blade with real hamon.
Folded steel 1095 and 1060. Folded 10 times to reach approximately 8192 sheets, hardened differently by selective clay quenching. There is a beautiful Hada (grain on steel, result of bent steel) on the blade. The hardness of Mune is around 43 and Ha (blade edge) is around 60 HRC Rockwell. The back of the blade is iori-mune, the edge is without Niku. (Very sharp blade). The dark color of the blade is the color of the steel that is achieved by treatment of the blade.
Sugata (Blade Style):
Mune hardness is around 43 and Ha (blade edge) is around 60 HRC Rockwell.

A high performance blade for cutting.
Nagasa (Blade length from Habaki): ~ 32 cm / 28 inch.
Nakago (tang of the blade) with Mei (inscription) - Murasame - according to tradition
Fuchi-Kashira (Pommeau): Beautifully worked.
Tsuka (Handle): Wood, suitable for silk. Length 17 cm
Tsuka ito: purple / black
Tsuka-ito (Fabric around handle): fitted silk.
Samé: Real, black ray skin.
2 Menuki: Brass, hand polished. Dragon shape. One on each side, mounted in the traditional way.
Habaki: Brass. Made in 1 piece.
2 Mekugi: Bamboo wood, Assembly according to traditional methods. The 2 mekugi-ana are drilled diagonally and conically in the tang. The mekugi are attached in opposite ways on each side.
Tsuba (Guard): Alloy Tsuba Fuji
Saya (Scabbard): In finely polished exotic wood. Curved according to the Sori of the blade. The Koi-guchi is made of buffalo horn. Saya with kurikata and 2 shitodome for Obi support.
