The red dragonfly is a high quality KATANA made of hand forged steel.

- In Sanmai Folded steel (1095 steel and 1060 steel folded on the sides).

A very attractive and efficient katana also very good value for money.

Sugata (Blade Style):
Hand forged, curved blade with Bohi (gutter) and Chu-Kissaki (tip). 1060 steel. The hardness of Mune and Ha (blade edge) is 55 HRC Rockwell (60 HRC on the Sanmai version). The back of the blade is iori-mune, the edge is without Niku. (Very sharp blade).

Nagasa (Blade length from Habaki): ~ 71 cm / 28 inch.
Sori (Curvature): about 1.52cm / 0.6inch.
Moto-Kasane (Thickness at the base): about 8 mm.
Saki- Kasane (Tip thickness): about 6 mm.
Saki-Haba (Width at the tip): about 24 mm.
Moto-Haba (Width at the base): approximately 32 mm.
Balance point (measured from Habaki): ~ 13 cm.
Nakago (tang of the blade) with Mei (inscription) according to tradition
Fuchi-Kashira (Pommeau): worked with dragonfly (Dragonfly).
Tsuka (Handle): Wood, suitable for silk. Length 30.5 cm / 12 inch.
Tsuka-ito (Fabric around handle): Premium silk. Adjusted.
Samé: Real, white ray skin.
2 Menuki: Brass, hand polished. Dragonfly shape. One on each side, mounted in a traditional way.
Habaki: Brass. Made in 1 piece.
Seppa: Copper.
2 Mekugi: Bamboo wood, Assembly according to traditional methods. The 2 mekugi-ana are drilled diagonally and conically in the tang. The mekugi are attached in opposite ways on each side.
Tsuba (Guard): Metal with dragonfly pattern.
Saya (Scabbard): Selected white wood. Red lacquered. Curved according to the Sori of the blade. Saya with kurikata and 2 shitodome for Obi support.
Sageo: Red.
Tsuka ito: Red.

1,100 gr. without Saya.
1380 gr. with Saya
