The Japanese Iaito is one of the best iaitos on the market. Its quality of manufacture, its lightness, its perfect balance as well as the softness in the noto (sheathing) make it a must for any practitioner of Iaido who wants a very efficient iaito.
Whistling Blade
Sugata (Blade Style):
Alloy blade with Bohi and Chu-Kissaki (point). Hamon on blade. Blade not sharp.
Dimensions:
Nagasa (Blade length from habaki): ~2.45 Shaku.
Sori (Curvature): about 2.2 cm.
Hamon Gunome
Moto-Kasane (Thickness at the base): about 8 mm.
Saki-Kasane (Thickness of the tip): about 5 mm.
Saki-Haba (Width at the tip): about 21.5 mm.
Moto-Haba (Width at the base): about 32 mm.
Point of balance (measured from Habaki): ~ 14.5 cm.
Nakago (tang of the blade) with Mei (inscription) according to tradition
Fuchi-Kashira (Pommel): Crafted brass.
