Very beautiful hand-forged katana, composite steel blade of the Soshue Kitae type (a core in mild steel 1045, the internal face of the sides in hard steel 1060, the back, the external face of the sides and the cutting edge in very hard steel 1075.) Masamune forged his blades out of soshue-kitae.
Genuine hamon, selective clay tempering.
Hardness of 60 Hrc on the edge and 40 Hrc on the back of the blade
Ito: black cotton

Saya (scabbard) in red lacquered wood with mother-of-pearl marquetry inlay
